Gauge Ring Installation in 10 Easy Steps!!

Well this is how I did mine. They are initially shiny and aluminium, but to be original I spraypainted mine the same red as my car. They are sold for $51. Anyone interested in purchasing a set of four guage rings contact me. Total time required: approx 10-45 depending on your skill.

N.B. So you don't lose any screws or anything keep them in an area for where you've taken them from.

Tip: If you've spray painted them like I have, when installing them and applying force, use a piece of paper between your fingertips and the ring to ensure no print transfer from your finger onto the ring.

Step one Get phillips screwdriver and flat head.

Step two Undo dash cover screws two under the cover at opposite ends of the cover. Take the cover off. (like brain surgery haha)

Step three Undo the left and right consoles containing air con and lights on either sides. Two screws attach the black face to the console itself on both the right and left hand sides.

Step four Unplug all connections and take the faces clear from the dash. Step five In the right console you will find two screws at the base (probably gold in colour) and two black at the top holding a stainless plate. Unscrew all of these. You will also see a screw in this right side further back. You guessed it, undo this as well. The dish of the right console should now be freeable, so remove it. Keep all screws and bits taken from this in a specific area. (Obviously remember to feed the wires carefully through the back of the dish).

Step six In the left console you will find two screws again at the bottom (probably gold in colour also), remove these. Take the hazard lid off and unscrew the hazard light mechanism. The left dish should now be removable fully. (Obviously remember to feed the wires carefully through the back of the dish).

Step seven Unscrew the two screws on the top of the dash holding the black plastic surround for the speedo/odometer. Un-click both components on either side of this to enable its removal and easier access for you.

Step eight The black surround (for the speedo/odo) should click out and pull off, if not, you can undo two screws on the material side of the dash of the drivers side, this will allow for a little leverage.

Step nine This should leave the gauges only a plastic cover away! Gently remove the plastic cover from the gauges. CAUTION THIS COVER IS EXTREMELY BRITTLE BE VERY GENTLE!!!!

Step ten Take each of the four gauge rings and put them into the allocated slots. The slot for the petrol and temp should fit snuggly. The rings for the speedo and rev counter however may need gluing. Choose a clear-finish super glue and apply lightly around the ridge. Push each into the remaining holes and voila you are done.

Putting everything back together should be done in reverse.

Have fun..Adam
